PM Modi & President Murmu Meet Indian Women’s World Cup Team

The Indian women’s team met PM Modi and President Murmu after their World Cup win. Their victory marked a new era of inspiration in Indian women’s cricket.

The Indian women’s cricket team created history by lifting the World Cup, their first-ever ICC trophy. Their triumph brought smiles across the nation and pride to every Indian heart.

Soon after their win, the team and coach Amol Muzumdar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi. The meeting with the Prime Minister turned into a beautiful mix of emotion and laughter. Modi congratulated the players, saying, “You’ve not just won a trophy; you’ve won the hearts of 140 crore Indians.”

Coach Amol Muzumdar shared how every struggle and match led to this moment, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur recalled their earlier visit to Modi in 2017  this time with the trophy in hand. Smriti Mandhana spoke about how the team has grown stronger through challenges, and Jemimah Rodrigues expressed how the players always lift each other up.

Harleen Deol brought humor to the room when she asked the Prime Minister about his glowing skin, making everyone laugh, even Modi himself! Muzumdar joined in, joking about handling so many lively personalities every day.

Later, the team met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where she praised their determination and unity. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur presented a signed jersey, and the President proudly held the World Cup trophy, calling their victory a moment of national pride.
